<\/figure>\nMy rating: 9\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n One of the Dior foundations I genuinely love. The name Skin Glow suggests something\nvery shiny or dewy, and that isn’t what it does.<\/p>\n I don’t get a dramatic glow out of it. I get skin that looks a little more alive, a\nlittle more hydrated, and very pretty.<\/p>\n Dior currently defines Forever Skin Glow as a high-coverage, buildable foundation\nwith a radiant finish, with up to 24 hours of wear and 48 hours of hydration per the\nbrand’s testing.<\/p>\n Its real advantage is that it delivers coverage without the skin going flat, and flat\nskin is exactly what I spend most of my time fighting in professional work.<\/p>\n How I use it.<\/strong> My favorite move with it is mixing it into a matte foundation. I\nstill have stock of the old Est\u00e9e Lauder Double Wear formula, and the two together are\nexcellent. The matte brings the wear time and the structure; the Skin Glow adds\nsoftness and life on top of it.<\/p>\n That’s obviously not Dior’s official instruction. It’s how I like to work with\nfoundations in my kit, and it points at another Skin Glow advantage: it doesn’t have\nto stand alone. It can be one component in a mix I build for the skin in front of\nme.<\/p>\n My rating: 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n If Forever Skin Glow sits on the radiant side of the Forever family, Forever Skin Wear\nis the current matte. Dior defines it as a blurring, high-coverage foundation with a\nnatural matte finish, 24-hour wear, and no transfer per the brand’s testing.<\/p>\n Personally, Dior’s matte foundation isn’t my pick. It feels dry on the skin to me.<\/p>\n That’s worth saying plainly, because matte and long-wearing don’t automatically make a\nfoundation better for event makeup. I want staying power and I want skin that holds up\nat close range. On anything that isn’t very oily, an over-matte formula emphasizes the\nexact things I’m trying not to emphasize.<\/p>\n Among the Forever foundations I lean much harder toward Skin Glow. If your skin runs\noily, or you love a true matte finish, look at Skin Wear. It’s just not the star of\nthe collection for me.<\/p>\n For everyday wear: 9\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n Hydra Nude is a different story, and interesting precisely because it isn’t chasing\nthe event-makeup effect at all.<\/p>\n Dior defines Forever Hydra Nude as a natural, medium-coverage foundation, with a\nformula containing more than 50% water and hyaluronic acid. The brand also states 48\nhours of hydration.<\/p>\n That natural look is exactly what I love about it. It almost feels like Dior bottled\nthe thing I do by hand when I mix foundations: hydration and softness, balanced so the\nskin never goes too shiny.<\/p>\n The result is very pretty. Skin looks like skin.<\/p>\n Would I choose it for an event? Different answer. For everyday, yes. For anyone who\nhates the feeling of a lot of makeup, absolutely. For anyone who wants even, pretty\nskin without a done look, it’s one of the first formulas I’d try.<\/p>\n For my event work it’s less suited as the main foundation, because the coverage\ndoesn’t deliver the WOW I need when I’m building skin for a bride or an evening look.\nThat isn’t a flaw. It’s a different goal.<\/p>\n My rating: 8.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n This is one of Dior’s more interesting products, because on the right skin it can look\nflat-out gorgeous. Dior defines Forever Skin Perfect as a multi-use stick foundation,\nwith\nbuildable medium coverage, a blurring effect, and a natural finish. Per the brand,\nit’s also meant for up to 24 hours of wear and hydration.<\/p>\n I understand completely why people love it. It can give skin an almost Photoshopped\neffect, visually smoothing texture into something very polished without looking like a\nthick layer of product.<\/p>\n For me, though, there’s a big asterisk attached.<\/p>\n On oily skin I don’t love it on its own. In my experience the stick is very emollient,\neven slightly oily, so I won’t use it as a standalone base across an oily face.<\/p>\n Where I do love it: over a lighter layer of foundation. Build a thinner base first,\nthen take the stick in exactly where you want more coverage and more blurring. Used\nthat way, it’s stunning.<\/p>\n On skin that isn’t oily it can work beautifully all over too, but I’d set it well with\npowder.<\/p>\n This product is the best argument for why “is the foundation good?” is the wrong\nquestion. The question is on what skin, for what purpose, and how you use it.<\/p>\n Outside the Forever family sits Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation. Dior presents\nit as a face-and-body foundation used at the house’s shows, with a second-skin\neffect, a natural finish, and resistance to heat and water.<\/p>\n That description alone tells you the approach is different. Forever is built around\nperfected skin, while Backstage is built for flexible, lightweight, buildable work you\ncan push in whichever direction the job needs.<\/p>\n Being a face-and-body formula makes it useful in a second way too, any time you need\nto even out something below the jawline.<\/p>\n If you love heavy makeup, this isn’t where I’d send you first. If you want second-skin\ntexture with the option to build, it’s far more relevant.<\/p>\n There’s one more family that gets overlooked in almost every conversation about Dior\nfoundation, and that’s Dior Prestige.<\/p>\n The current formula is Dior Prestige Le Micro-Fluide Teint de Rose. Dior positions it\nas a connection between makeup and skincare, with an emphasis on radiance and a glowy\nskin look. It also sits in a completely different price category from the brand’s\nother foundations.<\/p>\n Let me separate what I know from what I’ve experienced: this isn’t a foundation I’ve\nreviewed hands-on, so I’m not going to invent a rating for it.<\/p>\n If I do test it over time, the interesting comparison will be against Skin Glow, to\nsee whether there’s a professional justification for the gap or only a more luxurious\nexperience.<\/p>\n My rating: 10\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n I can’t write a guide to Dior foundations without naming one you can’t buy anymore:\nDiorskin Forever Undercover.<\/p>\n It was one of Dior’s most beautiful foundations, and I still resent that they killed\nit.<\/p>\n Plenty of discontinuations make sense to me when I look at what replaced them. This\none never did.<\/p>\n I loved what it did on skin, and it stands as proof that a new formula doesn’t\nautomatically mean I’ll love it more than the one it replaced. If Dior brought it\nback, I’d be thrilled to see it on a counter again.<\/p>\n Simplifying the whole family:<\/p>\n Dior’s current catalog does divide its foundations into three main families: Forever,\nBackstage, and Prestige.<\/p>\n This belongs in the guide, because most of us go hunting for the perfect foundation as\nif one formula could deliver everything at once. I don’t work that way.<\/p>\n One foundation gives me the wear time I want but runs a little too matte. Another\ngives gorgeous-looking skin but I want more coverage out of it than it can give. So I\nmix the two.<\/p>\n That’s part of why I love Forever Skin Glow, and part of why Hydra Nude interests me.\nThe space between hydrated, lively skin and balanced, even, long-wearing skin is where\nI like to live.<\/p>\n A good foundation isn’t the one with the most coverage. It’s the one that gets me to\nthe skin I’m trying to create.<\/p>\n There’s something here worth understanding before you order online. Within the Forever\nfamily, shades are built around depth and undertone, so the number by itself doesn’t\ntell the whole story.<\/p>\n The same depth comes in different undertones, so two people who look like the same\nlevel of fairness at a glance don’t necessarily need the same shade.<\/p>\n I also don’t like picking a foundation off a single online swatch photo. Check the\nmatch on skin, against the neck and chest, and if you can, see what the shade does\nonce the foundation settles.<\/p>\n With a high-coverage foundation this matters even more, because the more coverage you\nhave, the louder a shade mistake gets.<\/p>\n Dior Rosy Glow has been through a few iterations, and it matters enormously that you\ndon’t mix them up.<\/p>\n The older formula felt relatively weak in pigment to me. The new one is far more\npigmented, and it’s gorgeous.<\/p>\n Rosewood is one of the most successful and popular shades in the line, and there are\ngenuinely beautiful options among the pinks too. This is a product where you feel the\ndifference between versions of the same family.<\/p>\n My experience here runs the other way. I tried the Rosy Glow Stick, and there’s a\nred-burgundy shade whose color I loved. The formula, less so.<\/p>\n It’s too slippery, it travels past where I place it, and it’s harder to control. The\nbigger problem: it fades off the skin too fast and doesn’t leave the stain a product\nlike this should leave behind.<\/p>\n The shade can be gorgeous. The formula simply didn’t work for me, and no amount of\ntechnique fixed it.<\/p>\n Then there are Dior’s larger powder blushes, a category I love a lot. There are plenty\nof beautiful shades in there, and two directions in particular that I keep going back\nto: a strong peach-coral and a natural pink.<\/p>\n The strong peach can get dominant on the cheek, so I’ll often mix it down with a\nsofter peach.<\/p>\n That’s exactly what good color gets you. You don’t have to use it precisely as it\ncomes out of the compact. You can build the shade you actually want out of it.<\/p>\n Dior has highlighters I love.<\/p>\n I’ll take a light, pearly highlighter that melts into skin over a heavy shimmer that\nsits there as its own layer. I want the light to look like it’s coming from the skin,\nnot like I set glitter on top of it.<\/p>\n Which is why a few of Dior’s highlighters are favorites.<\/p>\n My rating: 10\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n To be specific: the older Backstage Glow Face Palette, not the newer palettes carrying\nsimilar names.<\/p>\n This is one of the palettes I truly love. I use the three lighter shades and barely\ntouch the brown one.<\/p>\n The shimmer is beautiful and very fine on the skin. It gives me that glow-from-within\nlook\nwithout coarse glitter particles and without the highlighter running over the skin’s\ntexture. That matters most on textured skin, or on someone who doesn’t want a strong\nhighlighter.<\/p>\n I use it on the eyes as a topper, on the face, and it works beautifully on the body\ntoo.<\/p>\n For body glow, I like mixing a shimmering product into body cream first and adding a\nluminizing powder over it. I have Fenty highlighters I love as well, but in some uses\nthey read stronger and coarser to me. The Dior sits far more delicately.<\/p>\n Dior’s liquid highlighters include a formula I really love, especially the rosy shade\nand the clear or lighter version.<\/p>\n The stronger the shade, the less it pulls me. That’s just the kind of highlighter I\nlike: light that blends into skin, not color sitting on top of it.<\/p>\n So if I were choosing from this family, I’d start specifically with the lighter,\npearlier shades and work up from there.<\/p>\n It isn’t one product. What I love about Dior here is being able to build skin that\nlooks polished without the makeup being the first thing anyone notices.<\/p>\n Forever Skin Glow gives me coverage and beautiful skin. Hydra Nude gives me\nnaturalness. Skin Perfect Stick can give almost filter-like blurring when used\ncorrectly. Rosy Glow gives color. And the old Backstage Glow Face Palette gives\nexactly the kind of light I love on the skin.<\/p>\n Not every product here earns a 10\/10 from me, and not every formula suits every skin\ntype. That was never the point.<\/p>\n But when a Dior product works, the result is polished in a specific way: the skin looks\nmade up and still reads as skin.<\/p>\n In face products, that matters far more than whether the package says Glow or Matte.<\/p>\n Formula details and specifications are based on Dior’s official materials.
